Kath Russon is an enthusiastic, talented papermaker who has perfected a beautiful, original technique using silk fibres. She has a successful business which is based in her Yorkshire home from where she sells her papers, kits and allied products. She has been a quiltmaker, and a special needs teacher, but now concentrates on papermaking, which is her main occupation. She enjoys the peace and tranquility of her Yorkshire home, but frequently travels to exhibitions to display and sell her wonderful selection of papers.

Kath Russon shows how to create beautiful soft and textured paper - and once you have made it you can stitch into it, bead it, mould it, collage it, wax it, gild it, even laminate it.

Silk paper can be made into original, bowls, book covers, multi media textile pieces, boxes and lampshades - each one of them unlike anything that has been made before. The process could not be simpler. You need no special tools or equipment and it only takes minutes. Textures and colours can be combined; beads, leaves and seeds can be added - it is fun to experiment and to create unique, lustrous papers. See how easy it is to progress from complete beginner to accomplished artist with a few simple projects. The step-by-step instructions aim to develop skills and confidence, and the projects are attainable by even the least experienced papermaker. A gallery of artists is included to challenge and inspire the textile artist - your paper will never be ordinary again!
